On June 18, we will be sharing in movement, dance and creative reflection with Heléna Melone. Come move and create, inspired by the river’s magical environment and your awakened senses! We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and bring a notebook for drawing / writing / observations.
We also welcome folks who would like to join us on the trail for solo art-making in any medium. BYO art supplies, or just come as you are!
All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
Come for one or both sessions! Reach out with any questions! Invite your friends! See you on the trail!
SAFETY NOTE:
There may be some incline or uneven ground along the trail. There may be mosquitoes and/or ticks. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the occasion.
RAIN DATE PLANS:
In case of severe storms or heavy rain, this event will be rescheduled. Check back here or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
BIO for Heléna Melone:
As both a visual artist and dancer rooted in the seasonal rhythms of mid-coast Maine, Heléna paints on silk the potent beauty & magical vitality of the natural world around her. Inspired in form by Japanese Shinto scrolls, and in content by the landscape in which she lives as it transforms itself through the year, her wall hangings and clothing are designed to react fluidly with air currents and gesture, reflecting the ephemeral and "inter-responsive" nature of life. As a dancer, she has studied and performed throughout the U.S. as well as internationally, but water remains her most consistently inspiring teacher!
